IBERDROLA MAKING HISTORY WITH EU GREEN BOND ISSUANCE

Spanish utility giant Iberdrola has become the first company worldwide to issue a green bond simultaneously meeting both European Union Green Bond Standards( EU GBS) and International Capital Market Association( ICMA) criteria. The groundbreaking € 750m( US $ 849.8m), 10-year bond attracted exceptional investor interest, with demand reaching € 3.7bn( US $ 4.2bn) – five times the offered amount.

The proceeds will fund Iberdrola’ s expanding renewable energy portfolio, including operational projects and new developments under construction.
