Q. LOOKING PAST 2025, WHAT IS YOUR TOP PREDICTION FOR THE FUTURE OF DIGITAL IDENTITY INTELLIGENCE? The next phase of digital identity intelligence will favor decentralised, user-centric systems powered by AI and privacy-enhancing technologies – shifting control, improving signal fidelity and making trust continuous rather than episodic.
I see several key trends emerging: modular decisioning over one-sizefits-all platforms, where organisations will assemble their own identity stacks, integrating the best data sources and decision flows for their use cases instead of relying on a single centralised provider. AI will increasingly be fused with richer behavioral signals, combining identity attributes with behavioral biometrics and device-to-device trust signals to detect deepfakes, synthetic identities and advanced impersonation earlier and with greater precision.
Privacy-enhancing techniques will become the default, with federated learning, differential privacy and similar approaches letting models learn from distributed data while minimising exposure of PII. Identity will be assessed as continuous, contextual trust – changing scores and stepped responses based on real-time behavior, lifecycle events and risk context – instead of a one-time‘ approve or reject’ decision.
These trends will redefine how businesses verify identity and manage risk: more privacy-preserving, more adaptive and ultimately more centered on the user – which is good for security, compliance and customer experience.
