GENIUS ACT CREATES FIRST US CRYPTO REGULATORY FRAMEWORK

The US House of Representatives passed the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins( GENIUS) Act on 17 July 2025 by a vote of 308-122, with bipartisan support.

President Donald Trump signed the landmark legislation into law the following day, making it the first major crypto regulatory law in US history.

This regulatory clarity aims to legitimise the roughly US $ 238bn stablecoin market while providing consumer protections for digital payments and trading applications, positioning America as the global leader in digital assets.
